1st FAI World Cup of Indoor Skydiving

iFLY Austin is proud to be host of the 1st FAI World Cup of Indoor Skydiving.

November 11-16, 2014

The Fédération Aéronautique Internationale (FAI) and International Parachuting Commission voted in January 2014 to officially recognize wind tunnel competition at the world level.  This will be the first FAI sanctioned event for the sport of Indoor Skydiving and we are excited to be a part of this ground breaking movement for our sport!

The IBA distinguishes between the sport of indoor skydiving (engaged in by patrons with IBA accounts seeking approval of flight skills though the IBA's Flight Progression System) and recreational flying (engaged in by entertainment customers who do not intend to pursue approval of skills). While indoor skydiving is safe for all ages, the inherent risk of the activity is necessarily greater for those engaging in the sport of indoor skydiving, particularly as they progress through more sophisticated maneuvers.
